She then went onto NYU for her master’s in creative writing with an original piece of work as her thesis. Her doctoral coursework was completed at University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Rest well my sweet, lovely friend. I will miss you so so deeply. I love you.

- Casey Cipriani, Cortlandt Manor, NY

I worked with Steph when she taught, and we spent last Thanksgiving together in Woodside. It was very special - it was just the two of us. I so admired Steph’s intelligence, her commitment, her compassion. When my cat passed away during the pandemic, Steph had a tree planted in his memory in Israel! We shared the Jewish holidays - she often came to me for Rosh Hashanah and Passover, and she welcomed everyone she knew for her amazing FoFF (Festival of Fried Foods) celebrations at Chanukah. Steph made the most amazing latkes, and it was so much fun making them together. Steph taught me more than I ever knew about Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, which we both loved, and her students adored her. We were both creative writers and shared our work. She encouraged my daughter to go to Sarah Lawrence, sharing with her some of her own experiences with the community. I am heartbroken, and my thoughts are with her family and friends. I will always hold Steph in my heart.

- Susan Jacobowitz, Woodside , NY

Our very deepest condolences about the passing of Stephanie. We are heartbroken at the news. Sending all our love to you both and Amy.

I truly wish I had the words to say how much Steph meant to me. She was my colleague for a week before she also became one of my dearest friends. Her Feasts of the Fried Foods are the stuff of legend. So is she. My deep love and support to her family at this time.

I lead IPGHealth which includes the Neon agency, and Steph was an invaluable and beloved member of the Neon/IPGHealth family...as all of you well know, she was incredibly special and this is a very sad day for all those who encountered/knew her. I am terribly sorry for your loss--she will be missed greatly.

Wickedly funny, brilliant and insightful. Steph was one of those rare people I've met who instantly transformed from a friend of a friend to being a dear friend. I spent countless weekends crashing on Steph and Stine's couch in Astoria. I will forever cherish memories of watching movies and eating street or bodega food while chatting about anything and everything hanging out in that living room. The last time I saw her we were living on opposite coasts and it was years between visits, but Steph didn't skip a beat. Despite sharing all these life changes, the distance of those years vanished. I'll dearly miss her infectious charm, wry wit, and devilish smile. Katie and I send our heartfelt condolences to her family. Gone too soon.

Family is no only the ones who share the same blood, we all are family because we share the same roof in the universe, because we are connected to each other, Stephanie feel those emotions with others and give her best of her to all who meet her, God call us when is our time, but I know that she is in the best place with the best Companie, and she will be watching all her loving people from there. We love you Stephanie and we appreciate and enjoyed the time you spend with us, we keep your memories in our heart and alway you will be loved. God bless you all.

I worked with Steph for five years and from the first day I joined she was a wonderful teammate and eventual friend. We spent the entirety of the pandemic joking about our various difficulties with teams, living situations, axe throwing adventures and city meetups. Most of all we were always referencing some novel to each other or making fun of how I made sure to proofread my emails or include semi-colons in my teams messages to ensure her and the other editors thought I was cool. Steph's memory will always be a blessing. Rest well.

- Jordan R Dolan, NEW YORK, NY

I will forever be grateful to Steph her generous support and friendship of my son. I will remember her spirit and delicious sense of humor. As a parent and sister, I share Carol, Carey and Amy’s grief. God bless you all.
